Research Interests
I am from Whitefish, MT and joined Dr. John Peters' lab in the fall of 2011 as an undergraduate. My current work involves the characterization, both biochemically and structurally, of NADPH: 2-ketopropyl-CoM oxidoreductase/carboxylase (2-KPCC) from Xanthobacter autotrophicus. Hopefully my work will provide insights as to whether the terminal enzyme in propylene metabolism can be expressed heterologously and be susceptible to gene manipulation concerning the metal ion stabilized loop region that encapsulates the substrate. I consider myself a very outdoors person so when I’m not in lab working I’m out and about biking, fishing,
