Q1: How do I become a Chemistry major?
If you are a new student, indicate on your application that you wish to join the Department. If you are a current student, come and visit the Main Office (103 Chemistry and Biochemistry Building). The paperwork to change your major is simple.
Q2: What kind of degree options can I earn in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry?
Our students can earn a degree with a Chemistry Profession option, a Biochemistry option and a Teaching option.
Q3: Can I do research as an undergraduate student?
Research is a major part of your undergraduate experience here at MSU. As early as your freshman year you may begin working in a research group with a professor, graduate students and post doctoral students.
Q4: What scholarship opportunities does the Department offer?
Besides University scholarships, our Department awards scholarships to incoming as well as continuing students each year. Applications for these are announced each spring.
