From June 8-13 members from the Peters' lab participated in the Iron-Sulfur Enzymes Gordon Research conference at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH. Graduate students Shawn Mcglynn, Trinity Hamilton, Trevor Beard and post doctorate researcher Eric Boyd made the trip and presented posters related to Fe-S enzyme maturation, diversity, and origin of life while Dr. Peters presented a seminar talk titled "[Fe-Fe] Hydrogenase Structure, Function, & Maturation." Also, recently two of our members, Ranjana Sarma and Jim Endrizzi attended the Northwest Crystallography workshop held from June 20th to June 22nd 2008. The workshop was a gathering of the who’s who of crystallography from around the Pacific Northwest and some very interesting structural work was presented by both by the speakers and during the poster sessions. Below is Ranjana with her poster; she also presented a talk on a recently solved crystal structure at the workshop.
